Victoria Finance PLC and Oikocredit have entered into a strategic lending partnership to expand agricultural finance in Tanzania. The agreement, signed in Dar es Salaam, will provide VFP with additional capital specifically earmarked for Kilimo Loans.
Oikocredit is a global cooperative and impact investor that has supported microfinance institutions across Africa for over 40 years.
CFO Amina Hassan said: 'This partnership allows us to grow our Kilimo Loan portfolio significantly without constraining our other lending activities. It is a major vote of confidence in Victoria Finance and in Tanzanian smallholder farmers.'
The partnership is expected to facilitate loans to an additional 5,000 farming households over the next two years.
